Wat Traimit Witthayaram Worawihan

#Bangkok attractions Wat Traimit is another temple in Bangkok that is a tourist attraction for many Thai and foreign tourists. Wat Traimit Witthayaram Worawihan is located on Trimit Road, Talat Noi Subdistrict, Samphanthawong District. It is an ancient temple. There is no evidence of when it was built. Its original name was "Wat Sam Chin". If you take the MRT, get off at Wat Mangkon Station and walk another 400 meters. There are churches, temples, museums, and many interesting things to know. The important thing about the temple is Phra Sukhothai Traimit, which is the largest golden Buddha statue. This golden Buddha statue has a width of 3.01 meters and a height of 3.91 meters. It was later renamed Phra Phuttha Maha Suwanna Patimakorn, which is a pure gold Buddha statue weighing 5.5 tons. The value of the gold alone, as recorded in the Guinness Book, is approximately 28.5 million pounds. It is an ancient temple. There is no evidence of when it was built. In 1939, the name of Wat Sam Chin Tai was changed to Wat Traimit Witthayaram. This was to honor the first builder and make it more sustainable. And to honor the diligence of the builders and the committee for the renovation of the temple, His Holiness Somdej Phra Wanrat (Heng Khemjareemathera) of Wat Mahathat graciously came up with an auspicious name to add elegance to Wat Sam Chin Tai by changing it to “Wat Traimit Witthayaram” and the Department of General Education changed the name of Wat Sam Chin Tai Secondary School to “Traimit Wittayalai School”. #GoldenBuddhaAmulet
