Wat Rakhang Khositaram Worawihan

Wat Rakhang is located in Siriraj, Bang Khun Non, Bangkok. It is a second-class royal temple of the Woramahawihan type. It is under the administration of the Song sect, Region 1. It is Wat Luang Pho To. This temple is an ancient temple built in the Ayutthaya period. It was originally named Wat Bang Wa Yai. In the Thonburi period, King Taksin the Great built a palace in Wat Bang Wa Yai. He had a residence next to the temple. He restored and renovated the temple together with King Rama I and dug up a bell, which he ordered to be taken to Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram. He gave the new name to the temple, Wat Rakhang Khositaram. Wat Rakhang has a Tripitaka Hall, which is a beautiful architecture. It used to be the palace and the royal residence of King Rama I during the Thonburi period.
