#FlyTravelwithtrip 🐂Wat Yannawa, a third-class royal temple, is an ancient temple that has been around since the Ayutthaya period. It was originally called Wat Khok Khwai because many Thavoy people settled there and brought their buffaloes to trade and exchange. This area was therefore named Ban Khok Khwai. 🙏It was elevated to the status of a royal temple during the Thonburi period. 🏚In 2325, King Rama I ordered the construction of a small chapel and granted the royal charter and a new name, Wat Khok Krabue. 🛕King Rama III renovated the chapel and ordered the construction of a chedi instead of the usual stupas. The large and small chedis are in two ships, with a base that is the same size as a real ship, the only one in Thailand. It was completed in 2387 and the name was changed to Wat Yannawa. Inside, the relics of the Lord Buddha are enshrined. 🙏In front of the ship pagoda is a standing statue of King Rama III. 🏰The temple's ordination hall is considered a masterpiece of art in the Rattanakosin period. It was built during the reign of King Rama I. During the reign of King Rama III, he ordered the painting to be done on the back of the door in the ordination hall. Inside are four stucco Buddha statues, one in the meditation posture and one in the Mara-Vijaya posture. 🏰The Tripitaka Hall is a three-story building with symbols and the shape of a Thai-style building decorated with three castle spires. It is used to collect Tripitaka cabinets, important Buddhist scriptures, and Dharma books. 🏰The Maha Chetsadabodin Building is a multi-purpose building with shared spaces, namely a merit-making pavilion, a sermon hall, and a meeting hall.
