#InsomniaInExhibition Bangkok Art Biennale 2024 - Bangkok Art Biennale or BAB, an international contemporary art festival that is held every 2 years, this year returns with the theme of "Nurture Gaia", conveying different meanings of nature, nurture, femininity, and contemplation on ecology, politics, or supernatural powers to reflect on the current situation, stimulate thought, and find new ways to deal with future issues in terms of society and the environment. #Insomnia invites everyone to see the works in the exhibition section at the National Museum, Bangkok, from artists from Thailand and abroad, totaling more than 34 works, with works that Insomnia likes and wants to tell others about, such as: ▪️ Joseph Beuys, an artist who deeply fuses art with social and political movements. His works are full of the power of reminiscing about nature, spirits, and ancient legends, using unusual materials such as rabbit blood, animal fat, and dried flowers. The story reflects the coexistence between humans and the natural world. He sees the deer, which appears in German fairy tales, as a symbol of spiritual guidance and connection with Mother Earth. At BAB 2024, Bois presents a collection of paintings and museum objects, including phalluses, vaginas and mythological deities, all of which convey the respect humans should give to nature and the supernatural. ▪️ Camoni Chiara captures the beauty of existence and the relationship between living things and nature through her work Sisters (Flame and Foam). Her sculptures reflect the acceptance of both life and death, as well as the good and the cruelty hidden in the world. These sculptures not only represent the cycle of existence, but also imply rituals that connect humans to the origins of the world. At BAB 2024, her twin statues turn to each other, creating a beautiful symbol of connection and transition. ▪️ Dusadee Huntrakul: She tells the story of human evolution through her installation A Verse for Nights. This work is like a poem that connects history, ancient artifacts and the future. He uses objects such as Ban Chiang bracelets, seashells and colored pencils to tell a story from the origins of the universe. To the present and beyond, Dusadee’s work reflects the importance of humans in creating and telling stories of time. ▪️ Jitti Kasemkijwattana: Our Place In Their World, a story of the Siamese crossing the ocean in the era of transition to modernity. His work presents stories that combine mainstream history with forgotten voices of common people, such as the K.S.R. Kulap and the Thai theater troupe. This is a reflection of the attempt to balance multiple perspectives, presented through the beauty of historical juxtaposition. ▪️ Ravinder Reddy creates large-scale sculptures that are full of the power of Shakti (female power). His elegant gold and blue face conveys confidence, self-awareness, and the power of a gentle but strong woman. These sculptures reflect the beauty of women who are at the center of life, both as creators, caretakers, and transmitters of infinite power. ▪️ Nakrob Moolmanas: Seetandorn Sandap (Fish, Fire, Fallout), which combines the history of the museum with the end of the world according to the Traibhumi concept. With the environmental crisis in the Anthropocene through fish sculptures, antiques and mixed media, in addition to the works created in collaboration with Jitti Kasemkijwattana ▪️ Komkrit Thepthian: The work Time Machine, a sculpture that tells the stories of important people in the area of ​​​​the Siwamokhaphiman Hall from the past to the present.
