Bangkok Nai Lert Aman | My First Aman Experience

🏨 Bangkok Nai Lert Aman | Aman Nai Lert Bangkok 🏠 Premier Suite Having never stayed at Bangkok's "Big Four" hotels before, I decided to go straight to the next level during May Day and check into the newly opened Baby Aman - Bangkok Nai Lert Aman, which had been open for less than a month. This marked my first Aman journey, and my excitement began the moment I landed in Thailand. 1️⃣ Public Areas: Centered around the concept of an "urban oasis," the hotel is nestled within Nai Lert Park and surrounded by tropical rainforests. Inspired by the Nai Lert family's historic architecture, Jean-Michel Gathy incorporated artistic installations like century-old Siamese trees and gold-leaf foliage throughout the public spaces, reflecting the estate's historical elegance. Given the Nai Lert family's marital ties to the Thai ambassador to Japan, the design feels less traditionally Thai and more infused with Japanese Zen influences. 2️⃣ Hardware: The room amenities are top-tier, offering a first-class experience. Natural materials paired with neutral tones and lofty ceilings create a grand yet warm ambiance upon entering. With only 52 suites, each starting at nearly 100 square meters, the hotel stands out as one of Bangkok's most spacious offerings. 3️⃣ Service: Though I’ve experienced many luxury services, Aman's attention to detail truly impressed me. From the seamless transfers to the thoughtful touches—like a welcome dessert made from a leaf of a century-old tree, turndown gifts of Thai shadow puppets and eye masks, a Songkran-inspired hand-washing ritual upon arrival, and a farewell blessing ceremony with fortune slips—every detail felt exquisite. However, as a new property, there were hiccups: room service was slow, with long waits for amenities or food deliveries, leaving room for improvement. 4️⃣ Amenities: The signature restaurants, Sesui and Hiori, specialize in Japanese cuisine and share the same floor as the Aman Club. While I didn’t dine there, I sampled Japanese snacks and cocktails at the club in the evening—decent but not outstanding. Breakfast at Arva, the all-day dining venue, was exceptionally refined and abundant (so much so that I barely felt hungry the rest of the day). The must-try is the spa: it’s remarkable how a hotel of this scale dedicated 1,500 square meters to its spa center, reflecting meticulous care—perhaps influenced by its female leadership. The overall spa experience was deeply relaxing and thorough. The gym and pool are also among Bangkok’s best, so enticing that even someone like me, who rarely uses hotel facilities, couldn’t tear myself away from the poolside. Two nights and three days felt far too short. The greatness speaks for itself—Aman is either never or forever. The word "Aman" transcends conventional hotel expectations in so many ways. I’m already dreaming of my next Aman destination.
