Pay respects to Luang Por Sitthichai and admire the mural paintings

🏘 Wat Thong Phleng was established in 1791 (B.E. 2334). Originally named Wat Klang Thung due to its location amidst rice fields and fruit orchards, it was later renamed Wat Thong Phleng after Mr. Thong, a folk singer, used his earnings to renovate the temple. Key attractions within the temple include: 🏠 The Thai-style ordination hall, built in the Ayutthaya period style, houses Luang Por Sitthichai, the principal Buddha image in the posture of subduing Mara. It is believed to be a floating Buddha image, discovered near Wat Kok in Bang Khun Thian district and brought to the temple by boat.
