Green Bridge, Lumphini Park-Benjakitti Park

When we travel abroad, we often see bicycle paths specifically for commuting, or walking paths connecting different places, allowing people to walk conveniently, in order to encourage people to walk instead of using private cars to travel, which reduces the number of cars on the road and helps reduce pollution in another way. In Thailand, as we know, the sidewalks in Bangkok along the roads are not very convenient for people to walk or for bicycles to ride, whether it is because the sidewalks are uneven and not suitable, including the discipline of motorcyclists who ride on the sidewalks, causing city people to rarely turn to walking or cycling to travel back and forth. But in fact, in Bangkok, there is a path that was built to allow people to cycle or walk conveniently. The path is called the "Lumphini-Benjakitti Park Elevated Bicycle Path", the Lumphini-Benjakitti Park Elevated Bicycle Path or what we call the Green Bridge because the surface of the bridge is painted green all the way. The Green Bridge was built to be a path connecting "Lumphini" and "Benjakitti Park", allowing people to walk, run, or cycle and exercise across the parks. It starts from Sarasin Intersection and Witthayu Road at the corner of Lumphini to the entrance of Soi Rong Tobacco Factory. The northwest side of Benjakitti Park has a total length of approximately 1.3 kilometers. Actually, the Green Bridge route was built since 2000, but over the decades, the bridge has deteriorated and its equipment has been damaged. The road surface is in a state of disrepair with wide potholes, broken iron fences and stainless steel railings, and insufficient lighting, making it dangerous for commuters. The Department of Public Works therefore renovated the entire Green Bridge route in 2019. The Green Bridge is like it has been revived, clean and attractive like a walking route abroad. #BangkokTravel #Bangkok #BangkokReview #GreenBridge
