Leaving the campus, I walked down to The Vale, a tranquil student village nestled around a serene lake. Cherry blossoms framed the water, and the soft rustle of trees made it feel worlds away from the busy city. Swans glided by, and students lounged on the grass, soaking in the gentle rhythm of spring. Continuing further, I reached Edgbaston Reservoir, where open skies and wide waters offered a peaceful contrast to the morning’s architecture. The path around the reservoir was alive with joggers, cyclists, and families. The reflection of clouds dancing on the surface made it the perfect spot to pause and breathe. From the intellectual heart of the university to the natural calm of The Vale and the reservoir, this one-day journey through Birmingham revealed a side of the city that’s green, thoughtful, and quietly beautiful.
