Old temple of Paet Riew

#NearBangkokTourism Wat Phayakkhi Intharam (Chedi Temple) is considered to be another ancient temple in the city of Paet Riew. Located in Tambon Ban Mai, Amphoe Mueang Chachoengsao, Chachoengsao Province From the evidence of the silver inscription found in the cracks in the bell neck of the large chedi in the temple, it is known that this temple was built during the reign of King Chulalongkorn, Rama V. The silver inscription is made of 3 baht and 2 salung of silver, rectangular in shape, approximately 8 centimeters wide and 28 centimeters long. There is an inscription about the history of Mr. Chang and Mr. Suea during the reign of King Chulalongkorn. Mr. Suea became the deputy governor of Chachoengsao. Mr. Chang became Phra Wises Ruechai, the governor of Chachoengsao in 1873, which was around the same time that Mr. Chang built the ordination hall at Wat Sothon. Mr. Suea and his wife, Nang In, built the large chedi in Tambon Ban Mai. When the temple was completed in 1881, it was named Wat Phayakkhintharam. It is believed that it came from the name of the couple who built the temple. The Fine Arts Department registered it as an ancient site on September 23, 1982. Originally, this temple was quite prosperous, but later it deteriorated and was not renovated until 1929 when Phra Khru Arunratmi (Phin) moved from Wat Sampathuan to become the abbot of Wat Chedi and renovated the temple to its current state. The temple consists of interesting things such as one large chedi, two small chedis, the Phra Phutthabat Vihara, the Ubosot, and the bell tower. The large chedi contains the relics of the Buddha and the relics of the Arahants.
