Khao Phra Angkhan Temple

Wat Khao Phra Angkhan, Buriram Province ⛰️Located on Khao Angkhan, an extinct volcano, within the temple grounds, ancient ruins and sandstone sema stones carved with portraits, stupas, lotus flowers, and Dvaravati-era Dharmachakra were discovered. The history of the That Phanom map states that in 8 B.E., the Buddha's relics (bone ashes) were brought to be enshrined on this mountain. 🙏The ordination hall has many architectural styles. It is a prang with three chedi spires on the same base. There are Buddha images in the corners and niches in various directions. When you go inside to pay respect to the principal Buddha image, you will be greeted by a peaceful atmosphere. Around the ordination hall are 108 Buddha images in the Mara-Vijaya posture, arranged in a row around the ordination hall. There are also sandstone sema stones carved with portraits, stupas, lotus flowers, and eight pairs of Dvaravati Dharmachakra around the chapel.
