Mica Academy in Tongguan Town, Changsha, Hunan

Mica refers to Guan Yu's adoptive mother. During the Battle of Changsha, Guan Yu brought her here to fulfill his filial duties. Unfortunately, she passed away from illness and was buried on the opposite mountain, which was subsequently named Mica Mountain. The academy is located at the foot of Mica Mountain. In 2016, it was relocated and rebuilt here from Huizhou. This mid-Qing Dynasty Huizhou-style architecture covers an area of 524 square meters, featuring two floors with three bays. Its white walls, black tiles, horse-head gables, "four waters returning to the hall" design, and exquisite Huizhou carvings are remarkable. The relocation construction team was the same one that worked on the Yin Yu Tang project in Boston, USA. In 2021, it was listed as the fourth batch of immovable cultural relics in Wangcheng District.
