There's the palace-like Guangdu Museum surrounded by vast rapeseed flower fields, where layers of golden blossoms complement the ancient architecture—it's a truly magnificent sight! There's also Changbanpo Apricot Garden, a small hill covered in centuries-old apricot blossoms, and Hualong Village in Huangshui Town, a hidden gem of a village surrounded by peach and pear blossoms. Each place is filled with the romance of spring. Here's a recommended one-day flower viewing itinerary: Starting from Chengdu, head to the Guangdu Museum in Qu Shang Tian Yuan (翟上田园), then to the Changbanpo Apricot Garden, 2 km away and a 4-minute drive, and finally to Hualong Village in Huangshui Town, 5 km away and a 10-minute drive. The Guangdu Museum is located in Shuangliu District, Chengdu. You can navigate to "Qu Shang Tian Yuan" (翟上田园), and parking is available roadside. If you're taking the subway, get off at Huayuan Station on Line 10 and take a taxi for about 10 minutes. Flower viewing here is free, but if you want to visit the museum, you need to book in advance. Flower viewing alone does not require a reservation. The museum covers an area of 9,037 square meters, with three floors planned, dedicated to cultural relic restoration, preservation, and research, visitor reception, temporary exhibitions and research studies, as well as cultural relic display and exhibitions. The museum boasts a rich collection of nearly 3,000 artifacts, covering seven categories including stone tools, jade, and pottery, spanning nearly 100,000 years from the Paleolithic Age to the Ming and Qing dynasties. The exhibition area is divided into seven sections, including the preface hall "Du Guang Zhi Ye" (都广之野) and the first exhibition hall "Ping Yuan Chen Xi" (平原晨曦), vividly showcasing Guangdu culture and Shuangliu history. Changbanpo Apricot Garden, located on the highest point of Shuangliu, covers over fifty mu and has more than a hundred 20-year-old apricot trees. Adhering to the concept of natural organic farming, the garden avoids the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, creating a pristine natural environment. Here, you can enjoy the blossoms in spring, eat apricots when they ripen, and participate in occasional tea ceremonies, guqin gatherings, and yoga meditation activities. You can also enjoy tea, picnics, barbecues, and camping under the trees. Hualong Village in Huangshui Town covers an area of 7 square kilometers. It not only offers beautiful natural scenery but also has a rich rural culture. In previous years, the village's economy was weak and development was slow. Later, through the efforts of all parties and innovative "Three Families" activities, significant progress was made in promoting rural culture and ethics. It has been listed as a pilot base for rural culture and ethics construction by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and selected as a typical case study for national rural spiritual civilization construction. The village also promotes its unique agricultural products and enhances its reputation by holding events such as the Peach Blossom Festival and the Crispy Peach Picking Festival. Best travel route: You can start with the Guangdu Museum, visit the museum in the morning to experience the charm of history and culture, and take photos in the rapeseed flower fields outside the museum. Have lunch at a nearby restaurant. In the afternoon, head to Changbanpo Apricot Garden to admire the apricot blossoms and experience rural life. Finally, visit Hualong Village in Huangshui Town to enjoy the peach and pear blossoms. Best photo spots: At the Guangdu Museum, framing the rapeseed flowers with the museum building makes for great photos. You can also capture stunning shots of airplanes and the museum together. In Changbanpo Apricot Garden, any apricot tree makes a great backdrop, especially for photos in traditional costumes, creating a truly atmospheric feel. In Hualong Village in Huangshui Town, you can take beautiful photos by the farmhouses and among the sea of flowers. Things to note: The weather has been colder this year. Although the rapeseed flowers are in bloom, the weather is not as good as last year. However, the rapeseed, peach, and apricot blossoms are all in full bloom this week based on recent photos. If the weather is good, feel free to visit. Also, this area is a no-fly zone, so don't bring drones. Local cuisine: Shuangliu offers a variety of delicacies. Lao Ma Tu Tou (Old Mother Rabbit Head) is tender and flavorful, offering a burst of happiness with every bite. Bai Jia Fei Chang Fen (Bai Family Fat Intestine Noodles) features chewy noodles and soft fat intestines in a savory broth, leaving a lasting impression.
