Wat Phra Singh is a first-class royal temple, Woramahawihan type, located in Phra Singh Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Mai District. It is an important temple, enshrining Phra Phuttha Sihing, a sacred Buddha image of Chiang Mai and the Lanna Kingdom. The art within the temple is very beautiful. For example, the Royal Vihara is a combination of Lanna and Rattanakosin styles. Inside, there is Phra Si Sanphet (Luang Pho To), a large Buddha image. On the side of the Royal Vihara, you will see the Ho Trai, a half-brick, half-wood building. The outer walls are decorated with stucco deities in the shape of standing deities. This Dharma Hall is considered the most beautiful Dharma Hall in the North. Further inside is Phra Wihan Lai Kham, a true Lanna art temple, and enshrining Phra Phuttha Sihing, which is believed to have been built around the year 700 by three kings from Sri Lanka.
