Tips for taking the train in China

1. Arrive at the station 30-60 minutes early. Some stations are very large and crowded. 2. Enter the station. Foreigners scan their passports with the officer. It is usually the leftmost or rightmost counter. Then scan your luggage and go sit and wait for the time. 3. Scan your passport to enter the platform. The left or right counter again. 4. The ticket will have the car number and seat number written on it. 5. You should use a bag no larger than 25 inches because it is easy to put over your head.
