Those who travel to worship Phra That Si Song Rak usually ask for blessings for love and success in various aspects of life. They usually make an offering of beeswax on the 15th day of the waxing moon of the 6th month or Visakha Bucha Day of every year. Phra That Si Song Rak is located on the bank of the Man River, Dan Sai District, Loei Province. It was built during the reign of King Sai Setthathirat in 2103 BE and completed in 2106 BE. Phra That Si Song Rak was built to be a witness to the mutual assistance between Ayutthaya (during the reign of King Maha Chakkraphat) and Sri Satta Na Kana Hut (now Vientiane, Laos). The two kings ruled the country at the same time as Burma was powerful and invaded various territories to expand its power. King Maha Chakkraphat and King Chaiyasetthathirat agreed to join forces to fight against the Burmese. They made a pledge not to encroach on each other's territory. To commemorate their friendship, they jointly built Phra That Si Song Rak as a witness at the midpoint between the Nan and Mekong rivers, which is the border of the two kingdoms. ❌️❌️❌️Pra That Si Song Rak is not to bring red objects or flowers to worship. You should not wear red clothes to worship because the chedi was built for truth and friendship. Red is a symbol of blood and violence. You should not carry an umbrella, wear a hat, or wear shoes to worship the chedi. Children under 3 years old should not worship.
