Jieqiao Ancient Village—A small village in the south of the Yangtze River with profound cultural heritage

When it comes to Jie Qiao, many people may not know him, but when it comes to Yan Song, I believe many people know a little about him. When we were young, we went to see Cantonese opera with our mother and saw a play about Yan Song. We were particularly impressed, but Yan Song in the play was not a positive character. By chance, I came to visit the Jie Qiao Ancient Village and found that this small Jiangnan village has a profound cultural heritage and many talents. In addition to Yan Song, who was appointed as the Prime Minister and Grand Secretary of the Ming Dynasty Cabinet, his great-grandson Yan Yuncong was also a first-rank official. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, seven Jinshi came out of here, and there were countless Juren, Gongshi and Xiucai. The village is known as the "Family of the Governor" and "the Family of the First Rank for Eight Generations". The Jieqiao Ancient Village Scenic Area is located in the central part of western Jiangxi, south of Fenyi County. It was first built during the Yuanyou period of the Northern Song Dynasty. There are many Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings in the scenic area, including ten ancestral halls, nine mansions, and twenty-nine private halls, including Yuqing Hall, Xiangbao Hall, Yuqing Hall, Yushi House, Yongzhang Temple, Jinshi House, Kejia House, etc. There are also ancient stone alleys, ancient post roads, ancient wells, etc. The ancient buildings have exquisite structures and carvings, with sophisticated workmanship, and most of them are Jiangnan courtyard-style buildings. There are also precious ancient camphor trees from the Song and Yuan dynasties in the village, all of which are between 300 and 900 years old. The largest and oldest of them, the "Camphor King", has a circumference of 9.7 meters, and is a living witness to the long history of the ancient village.
