The summit of Mt. Obong

#summervacay Mt. Obong in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do is one of those hikes that doesn’t ask too much from you but still gives you all the rewards. It’s not a long or brutal climb, which makes it perfect for a half-day adventure when you just wanna stretch your legs and get some fresh mountain air. The trail is forested and super peaceful, with just the right amount of rocky sections to make it feel like a “real” hike. You’ll pass some cool rock formations that look like they were hand-placed by mountain spirits or something, definitely worth a photo stop or two. At the summit, panoramic views that catch you off guard in the best way. You can see the Chuncheon area sprawled out below and layers of mountains rolling into the distance. Super satisfying. Bring a snack, a buddy, and maybe a thermos of coffee, because that summit is made for chilling. Obongsan isn’t loud, it’s just quietly awesome. Total weekend win.
