Germany in October

1: Lake Eibsee 2: Saarschleife 3: Bacharach 4: Garmisch-Partenkirchen Very beautiful places to visit though it might get a little bit cold during this period. Make sure to have your layers ready. An umbrella or waterproof layer could turn out useful as there was quite a lot of rainfall. The fall foilage were spectacular during this period. Though it was raining, we braved the weather and did a few hikes. As soon as we reached the spots, the skies cleared up a little and we managed to absorb the beauty of it all! Lake Eibsee, in close proximity to Zugspitze was the most unexpectedly gorgeous spots we visited. Very beautiful trekking paths through the lush plantations and a great view of the mountain reflected on the water body if you find the right spot! #fallingforfall #tripblazers #nationalpark #awesomepic

Eibsee Lake

🇩🇪 Let’s visit Lake Eibsee – Germany ✨ Lake Eibsee is known as one of the most beautiful lakes in Germany, thanks to its crystal-clear blue water, stunning Alpine backdrop, and peaceful yet vibrant atmosphere. It’s perfect for a relaxing getaway or a nature-filled one-day trip from Munich. 🚶 How to get there: Start your journey at Munich Central Station. With the Deutschland Ticket, you can take a direct train to Garmisch-Partenkirchen Station. Trains run every hour, and the trip takes about 1.5 hours, covering roughly 100 kilometers. From Garmisch-Partenkirchen, transfer to Bus 9840 and get off at Eibsee stop (right in front of the Eibsee Hotel). You can pay the fare directly to the driver. A round-trip ticket costs €12 per person. 🟢 Note: The Deutschland Ticket is not valid on this bus, but the Bayern Ticket is accepted. Buses depart every hour and the ride takes around 50 minutes. 🌿 Highlights of Lake Eibsee: ✔️ A scenic 7.9 km walking trail circles the lake. It takes about 90 minutes and is perfect for a peaceful walk or taking beautiful photos. ✔️ I visited on June 9, 2025, which happened to be a public holiday. The weather was lovely with mild sunshine and cool temperatures. It was quite busy, but still very enjoyable. ✔️ Popular activities include: • Boating / Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) • Taking the cable car up to Zugspitze, Germany’s highest peak • Cycling • Hiking • Sunbathing by the lake The whole trip was super easy and convenient. Don’t worry about getting lost—just follow the other travelers. Most of them are heading to Eibsee too! #SoloTraveler #Completely35Countries103Cities
