Visiting the Benevolent Heart of a Healer

On a spring afternoon, the weather in southern Guangdong had already quietly crossed the threshold of warmth. Ascending the steps, the former office building of Zhongshan School of Medicine came into view. The history of this school is actually longer than that of Sun Yat-sen University. Sun Yat-sen studied medicine here, and the medical museum on campus introduces that history, including many medical instruments and office supplies. The former office building of Zhongshan School of Medicine, built in the early years of the Republic of China, features a blend of Chinese and Western architectural styles, bearing witness to the historical evolution and development trajectory of early Western medical schools in Lingnan. Under the vast expanse of the blue sky and white clouds, Sun Yat-sen gazes ahead, as if contemplating the use of medicine to save lives, or perhaps envisioning the path to saving the nation. As the saying goes, a healer has a benevolent heart, driven by compassion to save lives. Saving the nation is essentially saving more people, practicing greater benevolence and righteousness.
