It was first established as the Lotus Academy during the Eastern Han Dynasty in the year 68! 🌸 Locals have a saying: “Before there was Zengcheng, there was Baihua.” The academy was the earliest known cultural and educational site in the region. After it was destroyed in the Ming Dynasty (1578), it was rebuilt as Baihua Temple. In November 2023, it was officially listed in Guangzhou’s Toponymic Protection Directory (Second Batch) — a recognition of its historical and cultural importance. #travel
