Every Monday, we go to Xishan Mountain in Guiping to pray for blessings for the coming year.

⛰️Guiping Xishan Scenic Area is a national 4A-level scenic area and a national geopark. It is located in Guiping City, southeastern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, with the Xishan Scenic Area 1 km from the suburbs as the main attraction. It covers a total area of about 20 square kilometers. The area has a long history, with human activity dating back at least 10,000 years. It is a sacred place for Lingnan Buddhism and the location of the Guangxi Buddhist Association. 🙏This hiking team ended the trip with a prayer, and we will see the mountains of Guangxi again next year! 🚕Self-driving from Beihai: 3.30h 📍Altitude: 678 meters 🎫Tickets: 💰CNY 80, cable car 💰CNY 50, parking 💰CNY 10. ❗️We chose to enter the scenic area via a wild path, a small loop of about 6 hours. We started hiking at 11:00 am and reached the foot of the mountain at 5:00 pm. ✅Main temples: 🔻Longhua Temple: Located halfway up Xishan Mountain, formerly known as "Longhua Ancient Temple", it was built in the late Tang and early Song Dynasties, more than 1,000 years ago. It is one of the most famous temples in Guangxi and the location of the Guangxi Buddhist Association. 🔻Xishi Nunnery: Built in the third year of the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, it was built on the mountain. It is a well-preserved and luxurious nunnery with a unique Lingnan architectural style. It houses statues of Guanyin, Ksitigarbha, Manjusri, and Samantabhadra, and 88 line carvings of gods and bodhisattvas on the mountain walls. 🔻Guanyin Rock: An important attraction and photo spot in Xishan, the temple buildings are tall, with carved beams and painted rafters, and are magnificent. You can also enjoy a panoramic view of Guiping City. 🔻Li Gong Temple: The first temple you will see after entering the scenic area, it was built to honor the parents of officials in the Tang Dynasty. 🍜Food recommendations: The tofu pudding on the mountain is very good, CNY 5-8 per person. You can try the local specialty Gushan noodles after descending the mountain, and you won't be disappointed with any restaurant. 👉There are many steps in Xishan Scenic Area, so it is recommended to bring knee pads for the descent. Finally, I hope to return next year to fulfill my wish.
