Iwate🇯🇵 Takkoku-do Bishamon-do Temple

Sakanoue Tamuramaro dedicated Bishamonten in a cave to commemorate the conquest of Ezo. Built on a cliff, Bishamon-do Temple was rebuilt every time it suffered a fire. The six-foot-tall Fudo Myo-o statue (a prefectural designated cultural property) sculpted during the Heian period and the "Iwa-faced Buddha" (carved Buddha) known as the northern limit are also worth seeing.
