I recently returned to secondary school to share my experience of the results announcement with my junior classmates. Looking at their young faces reminded me of my youthful school life. After leaving, I walked towards Kwai Fong along Hing Shing Road, which I hadn’t walked on for many years but was very familiar with. I passed many restaurants on the way. Some of them still have their big and cheap meals in my mind. Some are brand new stores selling specialty foods. I saw Liangri Egg Cake at the corner ☀️It happened to be the only way to go after school when I was a student. It seemed to be a photocopy shop back then. I believe the location was chosen with great care, but unfortunately due to pneumonia, the teaching time was greatly reduced, resulting in a slow business🥲 The specialty egg cake here combines the best of both Taiwanese and Korean versions, with a strong egg flavor and soft and glutinous cake body. The facade adopts a simple Japanese wooden style, which is completely different from the garage next to it, giving people a relaxing feeling. There are 5 flavors of egg cakes on the menu, and 3 limited-time flavors are written on the blackboard📋. There are also authentic snacks such as egg waffles and fried siu mai. It is full of milk and egg yolk aroma, with a hint of vanilla, and just the right sweetness. 🍵Matcha | $22 | 7/10 The egg cake has a soft and glutinous texture, and the filling inside and the egg batter in the middle are chewy. The matcha flavored custard sauce has the sweet fragrance of matcha and a smooth taste. ☕Earl Grey Tea | $22 | 7.5/10 The stuffed egg cake is very attractive, made with real Earl Grey tea, and the rich aroma of black tea hits your mouth as soon as you put it in your mouth 🤤 When you chew it slowly, it tastes a bit like the iced black tea I loved to drink when I was a child.
