The Cowshed Arts Village is located at 63 Ma Tau Kok Road, To Kwa Wan. It was originally the only remaining livestock quarantine station in Hong Kong, known as the "Cowshed". Built in 1908, the Cowshed is composed of several detached tile-roofed red brick buildings. It is classified as a Grade II historic building because it preserves the early warehouse architectural style of Hong Kong. The red brick house with a green main entrance is one of its unique signature photo spots There is a uniquely designed staircase between the red brick house and the Cowshed Art Park, and a cow-shaped photo-taking device next to it. The cowshed architecture mixes the characteristics of Chinese and Western architecture. The red brick bungalow has the layout of a Western market in the early 20th century, the red brick walls have a Western Victorian style, and the roof adopts the traditional Chinese rolling shed roof and Chinese double-cylinder tile roof. It is the only remaining characteristic historical building complex in Hong Kong. In front of the low red brick wall there is a long cement trough, which was the food and beverage trough used to feed the cattle.
