Hong Kong Disneyland Two-Day, One-Night Trip

To celebrate my partner's birthday and because we hadn't visited Hong Kong Disneyland in ten years, we decided to celebrate there! We went on a weekday. Although the official opening time was 10:30 AM, we arrived at the entrance before 10 AM and found a long line for security checks. It took us 30 minutes to get through security because our line only had one security officer, while others had two. Normally, it should only take about 10 minutes. After passing security, we had to queue again to officially enter the park by scanning our QR code. Our first stop was the Frozen-themed area to ride "Frozen Ever After." We were initially worried about long lines, but it only took a few minutes to get on the ride. We were thrilled! Since it had been over a decade since our last visit, we focused on new attractions (new to us) and less intense rides. Next, we enjoyed "Iron Man Experience" and "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle!" Both had very short wait times of just a few minutes. Around noon, we had lunch at the Royal Banquet Hall, as we had purchased tickets with a meal package. The package included a meal worth HKD 160 and a complimentary Disney ice cream bar—great value! After lunch, we went to Mystic Manor, which had almost no line, so we got on immediately. This attraction has fewer Disney elements, so it can be skipped if the line is long. We had already finished all the attractions we wanted to try and were surprised by the lack of queues at Disneyland 😂. With extra time, we decided to watch the "Mickey and the Wondrous Book" show at 1:45 PM. Even though there were over 100 people in line 20 minutes before the show, the venue was large enough for us to get seats in the middle of the fifth row. The show exceeded our expectations with its storytelling and was well worth the wait 👍. Around 3 PM, we checked into our hotel. The Disneyland bus station offers free shuttle buses to the hotels 👍. To catch the drone and fireworks shows, we opted for the hotel's dinner buffet at 5:30 PM. While the selection was limited, the snow crab legs were delicious 👍. After dinner, we returned to Disneyland for the drone show. The show spanned several buildings, with different characters appearing on different structures and drones in another area. Watching everything simultaneously felt a bit chaotic. Afterward, we secured a good spot for the fireworks show. After waiting for over half an hour, the grand finale began! The projection lights were stunning, and the fireworks made for a perfect ending to the day 👍. We then took the shuttle back to the hotel, where they surprised us with a birthday towel cake shaped like a real cake—such a thoughtful touch 🫶🏻. Disneyland also gave us a birthday badge, and staff would greet us with "Happy Birthday" whenever they saw it 😌. It was truly an unforgettable birthday experience 😀.
