Climbing Mindungsan Mountain (민둥산) in Korea

Experience climbing the hottest Mindungsan mountain in Korea in summer 2025. Mindungsan (민둥산) is one of the beautiful and unique mountains in Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon Province, Korea. I find it beautiful in all four seasons. In summer, there is a cool green grass carpet, in autumn there is a large grass hill, in winter it is a bit difficult to climb because of the snow. I just climbed here in mid-June, the grass started to turn green and the morning scenery was almost like hunting clouds. The Mindungsan climbing trail is not too steep or difficult, only about 3.8 km to the top (1.5 - 2 hours of walking). There are 2 climbing paths, 1 path is densely forested, the other is a concrete road, the road goes through a village where people live, small cars can enter and park in the middle of the mountain, so it is quite quick to climb to the top. The special thing about Mindungsan is that there is a lake in the middle, creating a harmonious combination of clouds, mountains and lake surface. We climbed from 12am, until we reached the top at around 4am, because we were driving a big car and traveling at night, so we went slower. But the road is quite easy to travel, suitable for newbies.
