Every mid-April, the valley transforms into a picturesque wonderland as magnolia blossoms burst into bloom. In the mornings, a gentle blend of mist and smoke rises, reminiscent of a scene from Tao Yuanming's idyllic world. **🌸 Unmissable Magnolia Bloom** Don't miss this year's spectacular magnolia bloom! **🚘 Transportation Guide** * **Navigation**: Search for Guixin Valley, Yongsheng Town, Jiangyou, Mianyang. * **Getting there**: From Chengdu, drive (approx. 3 hrs) or take the high-speed train (1 hr) + taxi. **🌟 Hiking Difficulty** This is a beginner-friendly hike, approx. 26 km round trip with an elevation gain of approx. 1,000 m. A 2-day trip is recommended. **🥾 Hiking Guide** * **D1**: From Guixin Valley, pass the forest ranger station, Xiaochanggou, Fengdongzi, and arrive at Dawuji. * **D2**: Return from Dawuji via Jiucaiyuan, Wangjiacao, and the forest ranger station back to Guixin Valley. **Hiking Tips**: * A small loop trail starts at the forest ranger station. On the second day, you can either take the loop trail or return via the original route. * The section from Guixin Valley to the forest ranger station is the most challenging, with a 4 km climb and a 1,000 m elevation gain. The rest of the trail is relatively flat. * A one-way hike (with sightseeing) takes 6–7 hrs. * The trails are muddy, especially after rain. Wear non-slip hiking boots, use trekking poles, and bring gaiters to keep your shoes clean. Descending can be more challenging than ascending, especially on the slippery mud after rain. **🔖 Practical Information** 1. **Accommodation and Camping**: Dawuji, the heart of the magnolia bloom, is the main stop for hikers. Last year, camping was available (CNY 20), and dormitory beds were CNY 100 (including breakfast and dinner). Xiaochanggou also offers accommodation, but with fewer blossoms. 2. **Photography and Blooming Season**: The photos were taken around April 10 last year, between 6am and 9am. The blooming season typically lasts for about half a month. Check with the locals at Dawuji before your trip. 3. **Trail Markers**: While there are signs along the way, some forks are easy to miss. Download a trail map to stay on course. 4. **Communication and Payment**: There's no cell service at Dawuji and other campsites. Bring cash. 5. **Supplies and Services**: The forest ranger station offers rest areas, free hot water, meals, accommodation, and horse rentals for carrying equipment.
