The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00–17:00. Last entry is at 16:00. The museum is closed on Mondays (except for national holidays). - Other preparations: You can bring some snacks and water. There are rest areas in the museum where you can eat and drink. If you need a stamp, bring your own notebook or buy a designated stamp book at the museum. Museum Layout and Visiting Route - Recommended route: Treasures Hall (Five Doctors of Sui) → Treasures Hall (Lacquer Art) → Exhibition Hall, 1st floor (Bronze Exhibition, Colorful Stars) → Exhibition Hall, 2nd floor (Ceramics Exhibition, Bamboo and Wood Exhibition, Chu Jade Exhibition) → Temporary Exhibition Hall → Kaiyuan Temple. - Introduction to the halls: The Treasures Hall mainly displays the Western Han Dynasty mummy, the Marquis of Sui, and exquisite lacquerware. The Bronze Exhibition on the first floor of the Exhibition Hall displays ancient Chinese bronzes unearthed in Jingzhou, and the Colorful Stars exhibition presents the primitive culture of the Jianghan Plain. The second floor houses the Ceramics Exhibition, the Bamboo and Wood Exhibition, and the Chu Jade Exhibition. The Temporary Exhibition Hall hosts various special exhibitions. Kaiyuan Temple is a well-preserved Taoist temple in Jingzhou. Must-See Collections - Western Han Dynasty Mummy: The Marquis of Sui, unearthed in 1975, is even better preserved than Lady Xin Zhui of Mawangdui and predates her by more than 100 years. - Sword of Goujian, King of Yue: The sword of Goujian, King of Yue's great-grandson. After more than 2,000 years, the gold-inlaid inscriptions on the sword guard are still clearly visible. - Jade Funeral Mask: Among the jade funeral masks unearthed nationwide, the one in the Jingzhou Museum is complete and exquisitely crafted. - Lacquered and Painted Wooden Hanging Drum with Tiger Base and Phoenix Bird: This drum, with its unique shape and bright colors, is highly characteristic of Chu culture and is one of the representative artifacts of Jingzhou Museum. - Fuchai Spear of Wu: As famous as the Sword of Goujian, King of Yue, this bronze weapon from the Wu state during the Spring and Autumn period is well-preserved and exquisitely crafted. Souvenirs and Stamps - Souvenir shops: There are three souvenir shops, located at the exit of the Treasures Hall, the cafe at the entrance of the Treasures Hall, and the exit of the Special Exhibition Hall. They sell a variety of cultural and creative products related to the museum's artifacts. - Stamp points: Mainly at the cafe at the entrance of the Treasures Hall (the museum stamp is also here). There are also stamp points at the information desk of the Exhibition Hall, Shichu Cultural and Creative Store, Miyu Tea Room, Ding Ding Gao, the Treasures Hall souvenir shop, and the Temporary Exhibition Hall. Transportation and Dining - Transportation: The museum is located inside the west gate of Jingzhou Ancient City. There are a few parking spaces on the grounds of the museum. You can also park in the parking lot opposite the Maternal and Child Health Hospital. Shared electric vehicles are also a convenient and quick option. - Dining: The museum offers snacks such as lotus root starch soup. There are few restaurants nearby. You can go to Jingzhou Ancient City or other areas of the city to taste Jingzhou specialties, such as Jingzhou fish cakes and Gong'an beef.
