[Shizuoka Prefecture] Kakegawa Castle

It is the first fully restored wooden castle tower in the country, and the inside is apparently the same as the existing one. It was early on a weekday, so there were hardly any tourists. Kakegawa Castle was built by Hideyoshi's vassal Yamauchi Kazutoyo, who also starred in a historical drama, and is known as the "famous castle of the Tokai region." You can go up to the castle tower, and on a clear day you can see Mt. Fuji. And when I went up there, I could see it! You can't go out onto the outer corridor of the castle tower, so I took this photo from inside.
