Dharamshala Cricket Stadium

#favouriteitinerary The Dharamshala Cricket Stadium, officially known as the HPCA (Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association) Stadium, is one of the most picturesque cricket stadiums in the world. Located in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, it sits at an altitude of approximately 1,457 meters (4,780 feet), offering stunning views of the Dhauladhar mountain range that surrounds it. This modern stadium, opened in 2003, is known for its unique setting against the backdrop of snow-capped peaks, making it one of the most scenic cricket grounds globally. The lush greenery of the field contrasts beautifully with the rugged mountain landscape, providing a captivating visual experience for both players and spectators. The HPCA Stadium has hosted several domestic and international matches, including One Day Internationals (ODIs) and T20 Internationals, and is home to the Himachal Pradesh cricket team. The stadium is also frequently used for Indian Premier League (IPL) matches when the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) team plays their home games here. Visitors can enjoy not only watching cricket but also exploring the surrounding area. The stadium is located near McLeod Ganj, a popular destination known for its Tibetan culture, trekking trails, and the presence of the Dalai Lama. The area is also home to several monasteries and temples, offering visitors a chance to experience both natural beauty and spiritual tranquility. For cricket fans or anyone visiting the area, the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium is a must-visit attraction, combining sports, nature, and culture in a truly unique setting.

Kareri Lake

Approx. 10 Km trek from the base. The whole trek is just awesome. On an average it takes 4-5 hours, and if possible spent one night there and enjoy born fire and sun rise. 70% of the path is just beside the small river, but steep ascent. Temperature is generally low at Lake, so keep some warm clothes with you. Rain is totally unpredictable, so try to keep a rain coat with you . Avoid trekking in monsoon as it is a bit risky that time. In the Kareri village there are so many home stays and Hosteller also, so Friday night you can spent there and then early morning start trekking.
