Platform for Kings - Lake Tilicho 2019

I finally get around to sharing one of my best high altitude trekking and glacier crossing experiences. This is truly tough and you need to have a tent. You need to do an overnighter. Your progress will be slow as breathing is hard at 5000 - 550 meters. You don’t need to take any water if you go in July/ August as there are tiny water streams everywhere. Now up there nothing talks , nothing, walks, nothing grows. You will truly be alone. Trekking around the lake is extremely tough as you have to cross either one or two glaciers depending on the route you choose. The second glacier which is the last leg of your circle is risky as avalanches will frequently come down from Mr. Tilicho to crash into the lake. As soon as Nepal is open again for tourism I will attempt to climb Mt. Tilicho which looms over the lake like a god-like guardian. #hikingtrails
