"The Hills Khao Kho" is a small resort with lovely owners. It's a place to stay that you can enjoy at a reasonable price. There were two of us and we booked an air-conditioned tent for only 600 baht per person per night. Inside the tent, there is a very large mattress that can comfortably sleep two people (I think sleeping three people wouldn't be cramped). The pillows and blankets provided by the resort are as thick and soft as those in famous five-star hotels.
