The Edo-Tokyo Open Air Museum is an outdoor museum filled with real buildings from different time periods, from samurai-era houses to old-school bathhouses and even vintage shopping streets. It felt like I was inside a movie set! I loved walking around and imagining what life was like back then. Some of the houses even let you go inside, and I saw tatami rooms, old wooden kitchens, and vintage furniture—it really brought history to life. There’s also a super cute retro tram that you can check out! If you love history, photography, or exploring unique places, this museum is a must-visit. Plus, Studio Ghibli’s Hayao Miyazaki used this place as inspiration for Spirited Away! It’s a bit outside central Tokyo, but totally worth the trip—especially if you want to experience old Japan without leaving the city.
