An iron whale?

At the Maritime History Museum in Kure, Hiroshima Prefecture, ice from the Antarctic that was collected by the Shirase Antarctic research vessel was on display. A volunteer explained that ice that contains a lot of air makes a crackling sound when it melts. You can actually look around inside the submarine, but it is surprisingly small and compact. It is properly equipped with air conditioning, but if you turn it off every now and then, the room temperature will rise in an instant.
