Cha Kwo Ling Waterfront Park and Tsui Ping Waterfront opened

The Drainage Services Department announced (August 24) that the Cha Kwo Ling Promenade on Wai Yip Street in Kwun Tong and the adjacent Tsui Ping Promenade have officially opened, connecting the Kwun Tong and Cha Kwo Ling promenades. To facilitate the future development of Kwun Tong District, the Drainage Services Department is carrying out the Kwun Tong Sewage Pumping Station Optimization Project to build an underground sewage conditioning facility with a capacity of 16,000 cubic metres (equivalent to 6.4 Olympic-standard swimming pools) to enhance the efficiency of sewage treatment. The Drainage Services Department built a landscaped platform on the roof of the pump house to implement the policy initiative of "single site, multiple uses". The landscaped platform, together with the adjacent seaside space, forms the Cha Kwo Ling Seaside Park, which covers an area of ​​approximately 1.8 hectares and is equipped with pavilions, landscaped areas, lawns, children's play facilities and fitness facilities. The seaside space is a "pet sharing park" where citizens can bring their pets in. The Drainage Services Department also completed the Tsui Ping waterfront cross-river passage under the "Revitalisation of Tsui Ping River" project ahead of schedule. Together with the space freed up by the improvement works of the nearby Kwun Tong Basic Sewage Treatment Works, it connects the 1.7-kilometre waterfront space between Kwun Tong and Cha Kwo Ling, increasing the overall connectivity of the Kwun Tong area and the accessibility of the Kowloon East waterfront. Cha Kwo Ling Waterfront Park is close to Kwun Tong Bypass and Kwun Tong Pier.
