"Kad Kong Ta, Lampang Walking Street"

Kad Kong Ta or Chinese Market, as locals call it, is an old market area located parallel to the Wang River in the Chinese Market Alley along the river. There are ancient buildings that are over a hundred years old along the old market road. The Kad Kong Ta community is considered an economic street with an ancient history and historical value. Kad Kong Ta means the alley market of the pier. In the past, it was a very prosperous market since the reign of King Rama V. Because Lampang used to be the center of trade in the North, most of the trade areas were along the banks of the large river, Wang River. This led to communities that came to do business, such as the British, Burmese, and Chinese, who were the largest groups of traders, until it became a large Chinese community.
