Wat Sri Rong Muang, see the most beautiful golden teakwood temple in Lampang.

#tripแจกโรงแรมฟรี 🙏Wat Sri Rong Muang, formerly known as Wat Tha Khan Noi Burma, is another Burmese temple in Lampang. It was built during the reign of King Rama V by a Burmese tycoon who came to do forestry business for the Bombay Burma Company. It was built by Burmese craftsmen in Mandalay. The Burmese built the temple as a place of spiritual refuge and to ask for forgiveness from nature because they believed that gods reside in trees, and to ask for protection from the sacred things in the forest. Interesting things in the temple include: 🏰The Wooden Vihara or “Jong” is the most beautiful golden teak Vihara in Lampang. It is said to be like the palace of Indra. It is a 2-storey building with the lower floor made of brick and mortar and the upper floor made of wood. Therefore, it is a large golden teak Vihara in Burmese art with a gable roof and 9 pointed spires. Some of the gables were copied from the Mandalay Castle. The ceiling is carved wood. The large round columns are carved with gold patterns, flowers, and plants. They are decorated with stained glass all over the tree, which is exquisitely beautiful. The columns in front of the principal Buddha image are decorated with the art of lacquerwork in the shapes of guardian deities, people, giants, monkeys, and wild animals like those in the Himalayas. Inside, there are three Burmese-style Buddha statues. The large principal Buddha statue is dressed in a sash, carved from golden teak wood, and is holding an alms bowl, from the early Rattanakosin period. 🏰 Inside the temple, there is also a pulpit with 8-sided lion legs, decorated with stained glass patterns, and a portrait of King Rama VII when he visited the temple, enshrined on a wooden pillar on the left-hand side in front. 🏰 In the past, there were both large and small temples. Today, only the large temple and the main temple remain. 🍀 In the temple area, there is also a Bodhi tree from India. 🛕 Mae Thao Pao Chong Tong Pagoda, built in 1902, contains relics. 🏰 Ancient well used for washing away dirt (All bad things) 🍀 Khajaw tree, the provincial tree of Lampang, over 119 years old 🏕 Ancient Wetcha Kuti Sukha made entirely of golden teak, over 120 years old, the only one in Thailand 🏕 White Elephant Shrine (Wat Crescent) over 105 years old 🙏 Thep Than Jai is considered a unique Burmese identity 🙏 The ceiling of the walkway down the stairs has a picture of "Phra Si Rong Mueang Thatsana Mongkhon" painted on it 🙏 Wat Si Rong Mueang was registered as an ancient site in 1981 💥 Wat Si Rong Mueang: Tha Khao Noi Road, Tha Khao Noi Village, Sop Tui Subdistrict, Mueang Lampang District, Lampang Province 💥 Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/G9Ctr3Xy4jeyPf8D9 🕗 Opening - closing hours: 08.00 - 17.00 hrs. #Lampang #TravelNorth #TravelLampang
