📍"Wat Phra Yuen", an ancient temple of Hariphunchai

“Wat Phra Yuen” or another name is “Wat Aranyikaram” is an ancient historical temple in Lamphun Province. According to history, it was built since the time of Queen Chamadevi, the first monarch who ruled Hariphunchai City. It is currently 1,330 years old. Important ancient sites in Wat Phra Yuen include the Wat Phra Yuen Chedi, built in 1606 during the reign of King Athitayarat, who cast a bronze Maha Patimakorn statue 18 cubits high and enshrined it at Wat Phra Yuen. Walking around the temple is really beautiful. In the temple area, there is also a stone inscription excavated from Wat Phra Yuen, estimated to be around 600 years old, in the pavilion. Around the temple, there are traces of an ancient city to see. It is really shady and beautiful.
