Langkawi Island Hopping Day Tour 🏝️

#langkawitrip During our stay in Langkawi, we opted for the affordable AB MOTEL Island Hopping Tour, priced at just RM30. We signed up the night before and departed the next morning. Although the tour lasted around four hours, the experience was enjoyable and well worth the price. Meeting Point & Accommodation The tour began with a meet-up at AB Travel Station on Cenang Beach – easy to find thanks to its clear signage. After check-in, we were taken by van to the departure jetty. We stayed at Best Star Resort, which is only a few minutes’ walk from the tour station – super convenient! The hotel was quite old, but the location was unbeatable, right next to the beach and shopping areas. Though we had some issues with the hot water and toilet flush, the staff were responsive and friendly. (Tip: hairdryers are available at the front desk!) Island Hopping Itinerary 🚤 1️⃣ Pregnant Maiden Island (Lake of the Pregnant Maiden) We didn’t land on this island but had a short stop near the viewpoint. From the right angle, the shape of the mountain resembles a reclining pregnant woman – perfect for a quick photo. 2️⃣ Dayang Bunting Marble Geoforest Park We entered the island and paid a RM6 entrance fee. The park had a well-paved walkway leading to a freshwater lake where you can swim or try paid water activities. The surrounding landscape gave us “budget Guilin” vibes – calm and scenic. 3️⃣ Eagle Watching at Pulau Singa Besar (Big Lion Island) We stayed on the boat and watched eagles circling above us – such a cool experience, especially for those of us from inland cities who’d never seen wild eagles up close. 4️⃣ Pulau Beras Basah (Wet Rice Island) Our final stop! The water here was clear like glass, but there were some foamy residues likely from boat traffic, which was a little disappointing. There were optional water sports, seating areas, toilets, and places to buy drinks. Watch out for monkeys! They’re sneaky and will go after any food in your bag. Overall Thoughts The tour lasted about 4 hours in total. Though simple and not luxury, it was a smooth and relaxing half-day trip – perfect for those wanting a quick getaway on a budget. The breeze on the speedboat alone made it worth it!
