🙏🙏🛕According to the legend of the construction of Phra Borommathat Tung Yang in Uttaradit Province, it is said that Somdet Phra Maha Thammaracha Lithai, the ruler of Sukhothai, invited the relics of the Lord Buddha to be enshrined in an underground cave by digging down into a cave and building a chedi. The original appearance of Phra Borommathat Muang Tung Yang was in the form of a rice sheaf chedi, but later it was further renovated by Phraya Taka, a Burmese timber trader during the Rattanakosin period, before 1901, into a Burmese-style chedi. Then in 1908, a major earthquake occurred, causing the top of the chedi to collapse. Luang Pho Kaew Sombun, the abbot of Wat Phra Borommathat at that time, and Khun Watisunthon (Klang Konwong) were the leaders of the renovation and repair to the current form, which has an inscribed stone tablet kept in the chapel. #NortheasternTeam
