Wangmangling (Jincheng, Shanxi)

Wangmangling Scenic Area is located at the most dangerous part of the fault zone between the Loess Plateau and the Central Plains. It features a typical zhangshiyan (cliff and rock) landform and represents the quintessential landscape of the eight hundred li (a Chinese unit of distance) Taihang Mountains. The Wangmangling Scenic Area includes four scenic systems: Wangmangling, Xiyagou, Kunshan, and Liuxiu City. The highest altitude is over 1700 meters, and the lowest point drops to about 300 meters within the territory of Huixian City, Henan Province, making it the highest peak of the southern Taihang Mountains. The sea of clouds, sunrise, peculiar peaks, pine waves, cliffside roads, Red Rock Grand Canyon, and three-dimensional waterfalls form the most famous natural landscape of the eight hundred li Taihang Mountains, known as the 'Cool Holy Land', 'Summer Retreat Paradise', 'Peach Blossom Land Beyond the World', and 'Supreme of Taihang' in reputation.
