|Early Sui and Tang Dynasty architecture. The Sansheng Ruixian Pagoda is located in Zhaoqingyuan, Jishan Village, Xihedi Town, Lingchuan County, Jincheng City, Shanxi Province. It was first built in the Sui Dynasty. The most widely circulated record is the inscription on the third floor of the pagoda: "In the sixth year of Dading (1166), the monk Skull of Shundu came here to preach. He dug out a stone turtle from the west of Zhaoqing Temple. Inside the turtle was a flesh-shaped bead. On the back was inscribed "Ancient Zen Temple Three Saints Auspicious Pagoda Appeared", and on the belly was inscribed "The monk Feng Yan hid the words in the first year of Sui Renshou". So the monk Skull hid the old relics and the stone turtle underneath and built a pagoda on top." The construction of the dense-eaves brick tower still retains the form of the square dense-eaves tower of the Tang Dynasty, which is similar to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an. It is one of the few and earliest square dense-eaves brick towers in China. The tower is 30 meters high and has 13 floors. Because it is located in Jishan Village, the locals also call it Jishan Tower. It is a national key cultural relic protection unit in China. You need to call the cultural relics protection officer to visit, as the gate is usually locked.
