Baiyu Palace, Lingchuan County, Shanxi Province

Baiyu Palace faces south and is divided into three courtyards. The mountain gate is on the central axis, with the lower level as the main gate and the upper level as a beautifully carved stage. There are three side rooms on each side, which were added during the Republic of China. The first courtyard on the central axis has a stage. The second courtyard has a hall, which was built in the Jin Dynasty. The dougong is a four-step structure with a single cantilever and single downward eaves. The cantilever is in the shape of a zither, with supplementary dougong. The dougong is made of large materials, with four columns supporting the eaves. The front eaves columns are all square stone columns with rounded corners, smooth and bright like jade, hence the name "Baiyu Palace" (White Jade Palace). The third courtyard on the central axis has the main hall. The entire temple has more than 50 rooms.
