|The first Confucian temple in Taihang. Archaeological research has confirmed that the Nanzhao Confucian Temple is an ancient architectural relic from the Yuan Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. It was repaired in the 22nd year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1389), the 16th year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1590), the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, and the 14th to 18th year of the Guangxu reign (1888-1892). The main hall is a relic of the Yuan Dynasty, and the rest of the buildings are in the Ming and Qing styles. Among the vast number of Confucian temples, Nanzhao Confucian Temple may be the smallest in the country, but it is the only Confucian temple still in existence in Lingchuan. In a sense, it is not an exaggeration for experts and scholars to praise it as the "No. 1 Confucian Temple in Taihang."
