Right after Lunar New Year's Eve, our family road-tripped to Luoyang! First stop: the glittering Mingtang & Tiantang complex (Hall of Enlightenment & Celestial Tower). Mama turned into a paparazzi with her phone while Papa kept murmuring "We've time-traveled to the Tang Dynasty!" at the pagoda-style Celestial Tower. But Yingtian Gate stole the show at dusk – thousands of palace lanterns glowing against vermilion walls, their reflections dancing on the moat like a floating palace. ✨ The Legend of Luoshen immersive show had us spellbound! My 7-year-old niece mirrored every graceful move of the holographic goddess while water screens painted magic. Post-show blues vanished at YES! Hotel – sipping peony & snow fungus soup in their Zen courtyard as flurries dusted our hair. ❄️ As the New Year light show bathed Yingtian Gate in gold, it hit me: Chinese New Year isn't just about firecrackers and red lanterns.
