Quality coffee fix in Madrid is far less expensive than I thought

#celebrateit Madrid in general is an expensive place to live, with everything pricier. Coffee is often priced at €3.5 and above. That said, it is not always the case. I was lucky to stay near a coffee roaster tucked in the alley in Chueca area, which not only make great coffee—quality nutty beans and great extraction/milk frothing skill—but also price it below average: €3 for a flat white. The ambience was as good as it can get for a compact coffee house like it as well. It was equipped with many power points every corner, but it’s quite popular so it didn’t feel that appropriate to hang around too long on a coffee (or even use laptop) there—but they did not ban laptop use or limit dining time. It’s just out of courtesy.
