This trip was intended to be a vacation, which was a very good vacation. The sky and rain were kind to us from the first day. Even though it was raining in the morning, when we arrived at Rai Om Got, the rain had just stopped. In September, there were fewer tourists than in other months, even though there were usually a lot of Europeans staying at the camp (sad). But no, there were Japanese volunteers... but they were at another camp -.- Besides us, there were two girls who came to stay, and we became a gang that joined the mission together. In 2 days and 1 night, as working people like us, we did many activities. We walked around the farm to collect flowers to make soap, rode buffaloes, fed elephants, walked the elephants around our camp, and stopped to eat bamboo shoots. We were quite tired, so we took the elephants to take a bath. It was very cool and refreshing. We had a lot of fun, but we had to be careful not to let out a huge amount of bombs in the water 😂 We took a break by soaking our feet in herbal water that smelled like tom yum and applied mud to our faces that claimed to make our faces bouncy (okay, let’s do it) before having a full dinner, followed by a campfire and a big barbecue. The place is very well looked after, the food is delicious, and the sleeping is very comfortable. This morning, it rained heavily. No one woke up to help clean up the elephant poop. I sat watching the rain on the balcony and teased the dog Sammy who had been curled up in a ball since last night. When the rain stopped, I hurried down to the pavilion and had a big breakfast before it was time to wave goodbye to everyone...😊 How to get there You can book a shuttle from Chiang Mai city.
