Nakhon Luang Castle

#summerdream Nakhon Luang Castle, a tourist attraction in Ayutthaya, is located on the east bank of the Pa Sak River in Nakhon Luang District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. Previously, it was the residence of the king when he visited the Buddha's footprint in Saraburi and was a resting place for him when he visited Lopburi. It was built during the reign of King Songtham, but was later renovated and converted into a brick and mortar building during the reign of King Thong in 2147. In terms of architecture, the castle is in the form of a rectangular four-sided Buddhist shrine with a total of 3 floors, with the second floor surrounded by a gallery. The highlight of this place is the four Buddha footprints, which are four Buddha footprints stacked deep into the rock. The largest footprint is several meters wide and long, making it an important place of worship. On the top floor of this castle, there is a Buddha footprint plaza, which has become a point of great interest for tourists.
