Pay homage to Phra Chao Fon Saen Ha at Wat Phaya Wat.

🙏 Wat Phaya Wat is one of the oldest temples in Nan province. In the past, it was located within the ancient city of Wiang Phaya Wat, along the Nan River. 🏰 The city of Nan was established in 1368 AD, relocating from the area of Phu Wiang Chae Haeng (currently Wat Phra That Chae Haeng) to the new city on the west bank of the Nan River. It is believed that Wat Phaya Wat was built simultaneously with Wiang Phaya Wat. 🛕 Inside the temple, there is the Chamthewi Chedi or Phra That Wat Phaya Wat, made of laterite. The chedi is an early Lanna-style structure, believed to be modeled after the Ku Kut Chedi at Wat Chamthewi in Lamphun province, dating back to the 16th-17th centuries during the flourishing period of Lanna, which influenced Nan. 🛕 The temple was later renovated during the reign of King Tilokkarat in the Chiang Mai style, reflecting the influence over Nan. 🏰 Additionally, there is the ubosot (ordination hall) housing Phra Chao Fon Saen Ha (Phra Chao Sai Fon).
