Reverend Father Phra Sai

Wat Pho Chai is a royal temple located on Pho Chai Road, Tambon Nai Mueang, Amphoe Mueang, Nong Khai Province. This temple is home to Luang Pho Phra Sai, a sacred Buddha image of Nong Khai people.   Luang Pho Phra Sai is a Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya attitude, cast in golden gold. It has a beautiful Buddha image with a lap width of 2 cubits and 8 inches, and a height from the top of the head to the top of the head of 4 cubits and 1 inch. According to legend, the three daughters of King Chaiyachettha of the Lan Xang Kingdom created three Buddha images: Phra Suk, Phra Soem, and Phra Sai, each named after the other.   During the Songkran Festival every year, Luang Pho Phra Sai is invited to be carried on a royal chariot and paraded around the city for people to pay homage and bathe, which has been a long-held tradition.
